The manuscript “Metasurface Antennas for FMCW Radar” by Modeste Bodehou, Gilles Monnoyer, Maxime Drouguet, Khaldoun Al Khalifeh, Luc Vandendorpe, and Christophe Craeye has been selected to receive the 2023 IEEE AP-S Piergiorgio L.E. Uslenghi Prize Paper Award.

The paper was selected after an extensive process and approved by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society AdCom. This award recognizes the best paper published in IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (IEEE AWPL) in the preceding calendar year, and it consists of a certificate and a one-time monetary prize of $1,000.

The award will be presented at the 2024 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium to be held in Florence, Italy in July 2024.

More about the AP-S Awards

Picture caption: the two disk-shaped antennas are used to transmit and receive the radar signals, so as to cover a road with uniform power. They are metasurface antennas, which transform a surface wave into a leaky wave. The modulation induced by the varying sizes and orientations of the patches allows controlling the radiation pattern.
