The COSY divison is pleased to invite you to Prof. Fritz’s presentation (see below details) that will take place on Thursday October, 19th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the room 42C (LEW).

Abstract: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is marked by demyelination in the central nervous system, leading to characteristic changes in walking and balance and leading to an increased risk for injurious falls. In this talk, Dr. Fritz will provide an overview of the benefits of using neuroimaging paired with clinical testing to better understand walking and balance dysfunction in MS. In addition, she will apply lessons learned from neuroimaging studies to clinical assessment and treatment of walking and balance in MS.

Biography: Dr. Fritz is a board-certified neurologic physical therapist with more than 10 years of experience treating individuals with MS. She is the Director of the Neuroimaging and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory and Associate Professor of Health Care Sciences and Neurology at Wayne State University. Her lab aims to optimize recovery for individuals with neurodegenerative disease and is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and TEVA.
