As part of the Global College of Law program, we are delighted to welcome Professor Massimo Starita, who teaches international law at the University of Palermo. He develops a critical approach to international law by crossing disciplines. In particular, he addresses migration issues and the law of the sea, questioning both the opacities and the silences of the law. The perspective is broad, offering new perspectives and original approaches. Moreover, the University of Palermo lies on the migration routes between Africa and Europe. Massimo Starita's thinking opens doors to the countries around the Mediterranean.

We invite you to present your projects and research work during a doctoral seminar to be held on February 26 from 1pm to 5pm at UCLouvain-Saint-Louis Bruxelles (starting with lunch). The aim is to open up ideas for discussion and exchange, to enrich them and change perspective.

Whether you're a lawyer or not, whether you work on migration issues or related ones, whether you're just starting out or are more advanced, whether you work in French, English or even Italian, you're welcome.

Send me your proposals (sylvie.sarolea@uclouvain.be) in 800 to 1000 characters before January 30, 2025, so that I can group them by theme.

We look forward to meeting you.

Sylvie Sarolea
