Anthony Papavasiliou received the Bodossaki Foundation Distinguished Young Scientist award in Applied Sciences.

The award is offered once every 2 years to young Greek scientists up to 40 years of age, in order to (quoting the foundation) "reward their commitment and effort to excel in their scientific field, as well as their dedication to serve as role models for the younger generations and the Greek society as a whole".
He succeed Constantinos Daskalakis in receiving the award under the Applied Sciences category. This year the theme of the Applied Sciences category was sustainability and renewable energy.
Former laureates of the award also include Dimitri Bertsimas and John Tsitsiklis.
