Starting from any train station in Brussels, ask for a ticket to "Louvain-la-Neuve" (NOT Louvain or Leuven). Take the Brussels-Namur-Luxemburg line (trains every half hour, weekend included), get off at Ottignies (about 35 min.) and switch to a train to Louvain-la-Neuve (about 8 min.). Some trains go straight from Brussels to Louvain-la-Neuve, but it takes more time. IRES is located about 5 min. walk from the railway station (more precisely, the station is half undergound):
- get out of the train, walk back on the platform (opposite to the direction where the train was heading to)
- Take the stairs at the end of the platform.
- At the top of the stairs turn right to reach Place de l'Université
- Keep to the left side of the place and cross it
- Once at the fountain, enter the Grand-Rue
- At the next intersection, go slightly on the left and follow Rue du Sablon
- Follow rue du Sablon until you come across a round place called place des Doyens.
- On place des doyens stick to the right and cross it.
- You are now on Place Montesquieu and IRES is on your right hand side (Dupriez Building).
